Unlike baseball, getting a strike in bowling is the best mark you can receive. Everything from strikes, spares, splits and gutter balls were being shown off at the Envoy Bowling Outing last Friday afternoon.
As an experienced bowler (starting at age six), it is intriguing to see how much a non-regular bowler knows about the game. Believe it or not, bowling is more than just throwing a ball down a lane and anticipating pins will fall down. It is a game of logic, strategy and mental preparedness.
How much do you know about bowling? Test your knowledge with these five questions:
- A perfect game in bowling is a score of _____?
- Three strikes in a row is called a _____?
- The place just to the right of the head pin for a right-hander is called the _____?
- What is it called when you get a strike after your ball hits the left hand side of the head pin (for a right-hander)?
- What is the most difficult split (two pins) to pick up?
Next time you are at a bowling outing, now you can test your knowledge and act like a ‘Pro.’
Answers: 1. 300, 2. Turkey, 3. Pocket, 4. Brooklyn, 5. 7-10

wrote 1 year 13 weeks agoHello Kristin, Great "bowling blog". I knew all those answers for your questions. Besides your Grandmother Webb, who else taught you how to bowl? That is a pretty good Webb Family legacy. Now we need to get the Gildersleeve Twins to start on a Bowling League soon, right? Love, Dad
