Who doesn't love the Super Bowl? The two best teams playing our favorite sport in front of billions of people. A great halftime show, and most of all - SUPER commercials in a #brandbowl. At over three million dollars a spot, these have to be the best of the best!
We did a quick, nonscientific poll in the office the morning after and below you'll find Envoy's top five Super Bowl 46 commercials. You'll notice something similar about them - they're all for cars. In addition to these top five, several other car spots also received votes, including Chevy Silverado "2012."
What else seems to be a trend among at least two of our top five? Dogs. Yep, man's best friend was another winner this Super Bowl. Also receiving several nods were Dorito's Man's Best Friend and the Sketcher's spot.
Another winner, not making our top five spots but trending among the ads were babies. Doritos's sling baby was one of my personal favorites and the E*TRADE "Fatherhood" was another honorable mention.
Finally, we loved the use of #hashtags in many of the spots. Rather than just the Facebook or Twitter logo, many advertisers invited the conversation to continue online. Love that!
So let us know, do you agree with our top picks? Who were the Super Bowl winners in your book?
Audi - Vampire Party
Chevy - Happy Grad
Volkswagon - Dog Strikes Back
Volkswagon - The Bark Side
Chrysler - It's Halftime in America

One of my other favorites was the promo spot for The Voice that featured Betty White. If Betty is in a commercial - I'm definitely buying it. Felt that many of the commercials didn't live up to the hype of previous years, but think it could be a reflection of the economy and a "less is more" position that many brands have taken.
